Guest guest
I'm new here, but I am strongly considering the daunting task of starting this diet. I feel it will help me and my son return to health after 3.5 years of dealing with food sensitivities. They all began after a bout of food poisoning during my pregnancy, probably salmonella. Despite a gluten free anti-inflammatory diet for the last six months and intensive probiotics, I have not made significant progress. The book really rings true--I know the key is my gut. My question: is there anyone out there who has done this diet with no nuts, no seeds, no dairy (including butter) and no coconut? We also cannot have shellfish, red meat, pork, or nightshades. My biggest concern is snack foods for my son, who is almost 3. Basically, anything needed for baked goods we cannot eat! I've been on a very restricted diet now for 3.5 years and it is getting so frustrating. I'm so fine with the restrictions for myself, knowing that it will ease as my gut heals and I can tolerate other foods. But my son is really going to struggle. As imagined, he is a sugar fiend because the bad bugs in his gut are going strong. Anyway, I'm nervous. Can anyone offer any personal experiences that might help ease my mind for the transition that will not be easy? Or point me to some resources that might help?
