Guest guest
Sorry to hear of Bridget's ordeal. I hope this time is successful. Regarding sending flowers---in Intensive Care, they do not USUALLY allow flowers or plants because they may have a mold, mildew or other spores that may contaminate a ventilation machine setup. The patient is vulnerable when intubated as nature's little air scrubbers are by- passed. There are filters on the ventilators, but usually they don't like to take the chance. Most of the time, room is limited (due to the various machinery etc.) and the patients are too foggy to notice the flowers. So it is sensible to save the flowers until they are enough alert to enjoy them. This may be old news and unnecessary, but thought I should send it. Robin K.
