Guest guest
My lunch at work is my leftovers from last night dinner. I would like to reheat my food at work because it is so cold at work. If I eat cold leftovers I'm freezing after lunch. Plus I had read that eating cold food take more energy and added stress to digestive process. Work only has microwaves. I would rather not nuke my food for all the right reasons. So anyone have any good tips/ideas on reheating my food at work other than turning on my car and putting my lunch under the hood? :-) Bringing in a portable gas stove will not be allowed either. Thanks a bunch! Pat
Guest guest
i send my little girl's lunch in a thermos. i put it in the thermos at 6AM and it's still very warm at 11AM when she goes to lunch. another poster suggested putting boiling water in the thermos before adding your food to keep it warmer even longer. i think that's a great idea!!!! misty kimble cd - no meds scd - 11 months
Guest guest
Why don't you want to heat your lunch in the microwave? in Minnesota

Nuking your food is not what you want to do when your on a healing diet. Google " microwave + dangers "

Many people feel that the use of microwaves is unhealthy, that it disrupts the nutrients and enzymes in the food, and that this is not something which you want on a journey to heal yourself with food. I do not have a working microwave, and am in no hurry to replace the one I have because I've found that placing food on an oven safe plate on the top shelf of my oven, and pre-heating the oven to 350F, then turning it off, heats the food far more evenly and completely than any microwave. I also have a toaster oven for re-heating small stuff. However, Elaine never banned the use of microwaves, feeling that it was better to eat micro-waved SCD food than to eat SAD which was prepared non-microwave. I'm not interested in arguing the pros and cons of microwaves. So for those of you who choose to use them, feel free. For those of you who choose not to use them, that's our personal choice. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
