Guest guest
I've lived in Phoenix since 1964. Cost of living here is very reasonable. Gas runs high, but everything else is good. Property values have gone way up. In 1964 we paid 20K for our three bedroom two bath house on a third of an acre. It would sell for about 140K today. (It's paid for, so I'm living here forever!) I love the weather. It was 86 yesterday. I don't mind the summer heat.... " It's a DRY heat! " Everything is air conditioned, and evaporative coolers work REALLY well here. I have a dual system, AC over evap. We run the evap most of the summer, switching to AC during monsoon in Aug/Sept when the humidity goes up. The evap is much cheaper to run, and I can keep the house near 70 degrees most of the summer. On AC that would cost a fortune. We spend most weekends in the summer in our little trailer in the mountains a hundred miles north of Phoenix. We are both retired now. I love to garden, and you can do that year round here. (Just set out some beautiful tomato plants this morning.) Right now I have Daffodils, freesias, iris, california poppies, snapdragons, shirley poppies, bachelor buttons, bluebells, african daisies, hollyhocks and roses all blooming, and a big sunflower that is going to bloom soon. (Normally hollyhocks and sunflowers bloom in the summer here, but these get confused every few years!) My peach and apple trees are loaded with little fruits. I just picked the last of my oranges last week. I didn't put in a winter veggie garden this year. I usually have lettuce, radishes, carrots, etc. all winter. But in October, when I would have planted it, my RA was really bad. The flowers all are perrenials or reseed themselves, so they come back without having to be replanted. I am desperately trying to get all gardening caught up, because I don't know how much I will be able to do next week without the MTX. Guest guest
Sharon, hello we are interested in an apt we are on a fixed income. Do the apts cover utilities or do you have to pay extra for them? Right now we pay 397 and pay all of our utilities separate. Thanks for the info..Sandy haron Wertz <sbwertz@...> wrote: I've lived in Phoenix since 1964. Cost of living here is very reasonable. Gas runs high, but everything else is good. Guest guest
Sharon, my parents, sister and nephew lived in Phoenix in 1961. Seems they lived there for about a year then my brother talked them into moving back to Texas. A short time later they moved to Globe, Az . My Dad was hoping Arizona would help his health. It did help his arthritis............Joyce M ----- Original Message ----- From: Sandy Myers Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Sunday, March 13, 2005 1:54 PM Subject: Re: Re: Tucson AZ Sharon, hello we are interested in an apt we are on a fixed income.
