UC Crossroads - 6MP vs. Testosterone / LDN

Hi, all-

My background in brief is that I was diagnosed with UC back in Jun, 2007, and

have been

through all the different mesalamines since that time. In May, 2008, I advanced

to high-

dose prednisone, and have been on it since - going on 6 months now... It's

improved my

symptoms, but does not have me in complete remission. My GI's are recommending

6-

MP, which has worked for people I know, but I find scary...

I only started the SCD about a month ago, and am progressing slowly. I

understand that

patience is key, and I think UC in particular can take months (or longer) to

heal.

Meanwhile, I feel the need to get off or at least dramatically lower my

prednisone intake.

My doc has recommended testosterone supplementation (my levels are in the

basement

likely due to combination of prednisone and UC), and low-dose naltrexone (in

addition to

SCD and natural anti-inflammatory supplements). Does anybody have experience

with

either of these as treatments for UC, or CD?

Has anybody done 6-MP along with SCD, or as a transient treatment for UC? GI's

follow

the if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it approach, which would have me on 6-MP

permanently...

Thanks for any responses!
