Guest guest
I don't think you need to faste, but I can tell you that you must not take any iron supplements 5 days before taking the Ferritin test. This way you will see if your body is holding onto the iron - If you're on iron supplements now, that is. This I learned here in this yahoo group thanks to Nick and Val!BTW: I've been to Seattle many times, and I love it over there! Have some of my best friends in the whole world in SEA. And the water is not all that bad compared to what I tasted in say NJ, NY and in IL. Â Hmm, good suggestions. Our water in Seattle area is purer than most, but still does have some degree of purification done to it. I will look into a shower filter. Would being on T3 increase my sensitivity? It's always been my husband with skin issues, never me before... I've not had a ferritin done to this point because I've sailed along relatively smoothly to this point. It doesn't require fasting, does it? Thanks, Jeanne > > Sounds liek a bit of low ferritin. The itching is most loikely caused by > CHLORINE in your water. Do oyu use a shower filter? Subject: Re: Itching! and exerciseTo: RT3_T3 Date: Monday, January 25, 2010, 8:53 PM Are cashews considered high in iron? I just did a ferritin test today, and didn't fast. I CRAVE cashew butter and ate several spoonfuls a while before the test, and had eggs. Dang, I hope I didn't screw it up! I can't afford another one right now.>> It is BEST to do ferritin fasting btu nto absilutely essential as loong > as ther eis no hgih iron in the foods oyu eat before the draw. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing this information. My daughter is Hypo T and just recently her TPO came back elevated. She has been having problems with her lip swelling at random times for the past two months. This gave me quite a bit of information as to why this is happening. I had no clue....should have known it had something to do with the thyroid though. Thanks, From: carol47ymail (DOT) com <carol47ymail (DOT) com>Subject: Re: Itching! and exerciseTo: RT3_T3yahoogroups (DOT) comDate: Monday, January 25, 2010, 8:53 PM Are cashews considered high in iron? Guest guest
Jeanne, I had the horrible itching while I was in my first twelve weeks of weaning off T4. Come to find out it was due to Hypo...Can't remember the numbers right now of my dose but if I took less that this certain dose of T3 I would go crazy itching, especially at night. Brought my dose back up and the itching was gone. This was during the time that I was kind of going up and down depending on HC/T3---pulse and temps. Hopefully this is all that might be going with you and once you get your dose/T3 up and clear the RT3 then things will get better. Just my experience....Hope this helps. Low B12 causes lots of odd symptoms that are in the thyroid area. Itchy skin is a B12 symptom as well. Oral supplements often have absorbtion issues. There are injections or sublingual supplements Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
Guest guest
Jeanne, the itching is long gone but when I had it it was terrible....I had itching all over my body and only at night whenever it was time for bed. I've never had anything like that. I am on T3 only...still trying to tweak my dose. I have been on HC for a little over two years and have recently weaned off. Now I'm trying to figure out my perfect T3 dose. Hopefully that will happen soon. Im excited about the HC breakthrough. That is a huge step in itself. All other areas have been good for awhile. I won't go back to T4, tried that and it didn't work. Anyway, thanks for asking and I wish you continued healing. Oh, forgot to tell you about B-12. I started out with a level of 206 and just recently had to cut the dose in half because my levels were up to 1600. I don't know if this is too high but I figured I better back off just in case. Jarrow Formula Methyl B-12 5000mcg. They are lozenges and I just let it slowly dissolve in my mouth. Taste is not bad either. Thanks for sharing your experience, . It's helpful. I'm certainly working on finding the right T3 dose at this point in the 12 week journey, and it would be lovely if the itching went away as I got the dosage tweaked correctly. And now for you? Your itching and hypo are gone and you doing well on T3 alone (or something else)?Jeanne> > > > >However, I have turned into an itchy itchy person. Guest guest
I take it daily but as I said my levels have really gone kind of high so I have cut back to a half a tablet daily until my next labs. Good Luck!! Got the Jarrow Formula 5000 mcg.this afternoon. How often do you take it, ?> > > > > > >However, I have turned into an itchy itchy person.
