Guest guest
Into my 8th week of T3 only. It's going MUCH better since I got off Paddock T3 and onto Grossman Cynomel. I've still got some hypo symptoms (brain fog and fatigue and sinus and aches--but less than before), but am trying to stick with 175 mcg of T3 a day. However, I have turned into an itchy itchy person. For years I've had an itchy upper back, especially between my shoulder blades, but the last couple of weeks, I'm itching EVERYWHERE. If I drybrush and shower, it feels better for a couple of hours, but that's not too realistic to do too frequently. Is this a hypo symptom? Anything to do but scratch (and shower?) Also, it feels like my heart starts to pound and I get short of breath whenever I exert myself at all -- climbing a flight of stairs, even walking fast. Is this normal? I've kind of stopped trying, is this a good thing? Thanks, Jeanne
Guest guest
Sounds liek a bit of low ferritin. The itching is most loikely caused by CHLORINE in your water. Do oyu use a shower filter? Thsi time odf year is when chlorine in tap water is at it's highest., -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Hmm, good suggestions. Our water in Seattle area is purer than most, but still does have some degree of purification done to it. I will look into a shower filter. Would being on T3 increase my sensitivity? It's always been my husband with skin issues, never me before... I've not had a ferritin done to this point because I've sailed along relatively smoothly to this point. It doesn't require fasting, does it? Thanks, Jeanne > > Sounds liek a bit of low ferritin. The itching is most loikely caused by > CHLORINE in your water. Do oyu use a shower filter? Guest guest
Thanks, . Seattle is a pretty great place, especially today when it's low 50's and the sun is shining. We've had crazy weather this year, icy really early, sun when we're not supposed to -- but we take all of that we can get! Jeanne > > > > > > Sounds liek a bit of low ferritin. Guest guest
Thanks Val. I'll keep hanging in there and get the ferritin tested while I'm at it... Guest guest
Are cashews considered high in iron? I just did a ferritin test today, and didn't fast. I CRAVE cashew butter and ate several spoonfuls a while before the test, and had eggs. Dang, I hope I didn't screw it up! I can't afford another one right now. > > It is BEST to do ferritin fasting btu nto absilutely essential as loong > as ther eis no hgih iron in the foods oyu eat before the draw. Guest guest
I've never had B12 levels checked. Looks like this should go on the list for my next Dr visit. Thanks, Jeanne > > >However, I have turned into an itchy itchy person. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing your experience, . It's helpful. I'm certainly working on finding the right T3 dose at this point in the 12 week journey, and it would be lovely if the itching went away as I got the dosage tweaked correctly. And now for you? Your itching and hypo are gone and you doing well on T3 alone (or something else)? Jeanne > > > > >However, I have turned into an itchy itchy person. Guest guest
Nick, I have heard B12 isn't absorbed well, though since T3 sublingual is working well, I'm hoping B12 sublingual would work as well. Injections I'd like to stay away from... Thanks, Jeanne > > > > >I've never had B12 levels checked. Looks like this should go on the list for my next Dr visit. > > Yep, worth checking out. Guest guest
Got the Jarrow Formula 5000 mcg.this afternoon. How often do you take it, ? > > > > > > >However, I have turned into an itchy itchy person. Guest guest
So far I haven't had to work with HC, for which I'm grateful, because it does seem tricky. SO glad you've been able to slowly but surely wean off of it. All the best! Jeanne > > > > > > >However, I have turned into an itchy itchy person. Guest guest
Jeanne, The injections don't really hurt, it's such a tiny needle and they have helped me TREMENDOUSLY! I think many thing stop working when we have been hypo a while and while I didn't show low `b12 on labs, they help anyway. I since read about methyl b12 and methylation in the body. Plus methyl b12 can mop up excess nitrix oxide which some people with chronic fatigue have issues with. It also improves brain fog. All I can is that I was told they can't harm me and since they make me feel SOOOOO much better, I've been doing an injection every day or so. Guest guest
Kathleen, You are right, I'm sure, I would just have to take a bit of a psychological leap to go there. And it is good to hear and know they've helped you. I've started with sublingual and will go from there. I assume this is something you need to get an rx from the dr, right? Guest guest
Thanks, . I took my first dose this morning. Good luck with your next labs.
