Guest guest
I just wanted to ramble for a minute to anyone who cares to listen about the wonderful time I just had at Whole Foods. I know, wonderful time and grocery shopping, not usually in the same sentence. It just put me in a good mood for some reason. I went in search of mochi because all you guys have made me want to try it. Since I was sure I was pronouncing it wrong, I didn't ask anyone for help, just started foraging in the most likely places. While I was wandering around I noticed that I was seeing a lot more gluten free stuff than I had ever noticed before. It has been a little while since I did any serious market research. I found a reduced sodium soy sauce that was not on the shelves before, also GF Hoisin Sauce and fish sauce. I don't know what to do with those yet, but I found them. Baby steps, right? I also noticed that the WF Bakery is back to its full GF product line. They had reduced it because the demand to expand to other stores quickly was so high (or so I was told when they took my chocolate raspberry cake away from me). And in the cookie/cracker isle, there were at least 3 times the choices I remember from a few months ago. More brands, more types of cookies. (No oreo-like cookies, darn it.) And the GF pastas have been promoted two shelves up to just above knee level. No more crawling on the floor! And I 'm not even going to pretend that the Ian's fishticks are for my niece (I bought 3 boxes). Okay, I think I got it all out of my system. I'm just really encouraged that there have been so many changes in such a relatively short time. And, maybe it offsets a little bit of the McControversy?
