Hi Mara. This is the recipe I used to use for making seasoned salt at home.

I have yet to determine whether I can buy SCD-legal garlic powder or

SCD-legal onion powder in Toronto, and I haven't tried dehydrating the bulbs

to make my own. Therefore, I haven't made any seasoned salt since starting

on SCD 9 months ago.

Seasoned Salt

Recipe By : Adapted from Epstein and Klein, Substituting Ingredients

Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00

Categories : Seasonings

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

1/2 cup salt

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon dry mustard

3/4 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Combine all ingredients. Shake well before using.

Note: The book contains two recipes for seasoned salt on page 84. The first

recipe uses one cup salt and various amounts of paprika, dry mustard,

oregano, garlic powder and onion powder. The second recipe uses 1/2 cup salt

and different quantities of everything but oregano.

I have used the quantities from the second recipe but added half the oregano

of the first recipe for some extra flavour.

NOTES : Formatted in MC 4 by 2003-January-24.

Commercial seasoned salt or seasoning salt contains some ingredients to

which I am allergic, so I use this recipe when I need seasoned salt.
