The Iodoral is fine; the ingredients are all OK in a supplement. Whether your daughter can tolerate it is another matter. Start slow.

Remember to check this list for legal and illegal supplement ingredients:

http://www.pecanbread.com/new/Sup1.html

Scroll down about halfway for the list of supplement ingredients. The Micosolle isn't mentioned, but I would hope that a silica-based excipient is tolerated. It's used to enhance absorption according to the quick check I made.

If I was taking Iodoral I would ask a compounding pharmacy if they could make it to avoid the Micosolle and the pharmaceutical glaze, but that's me. My body does a lot better with low-potency supplements and medications, less of the extra additives.

......Here's a new supplement that the nutritionist wants Rach to take, for her thyroid. Thought I'd mention it to you all. It's Iodoral. It's a high potency iodine/potassium iodide supplement. Company is Optimox Corp. in CA. This is what is in it: iodine, iodide (as potassium salt). Other ingredients are: Micosolle, a silica based excipient containing a non-ionic surfactant, microcrystaline cellulose, vegetable stearins and pharmaceutical glaze. What do you think about it?I looked at the illegal list, but obviously not every little thing is listed on it so I'm not sure about this supplement.Marla

I didn't see your response until just now. Thank you so much for checking it for me. I did not have that exact website to check.
