Guest guest
1. Is it true and can it explain why when I really raised my HC up to 35mgs I felt and looked absolutely terrible? I developed dark circles under my eyes, I got extremely weak and lost weight. I just couldn't take that much HC. Although my total testoserone has always been 550-600 (range 250-1100) my free is 81 (46-224 range) and my bioavailable 153 (range 110 575). A) The dark circles are form low aldosterone. HC CAN supress aldosterone especially if you have lowish Renin. Rather than raising HC you migh ttry adding in Licorice or if that is not enough but helps somewhat, I would suggest you need Florinef. You definitly need Testosterone. It helps BUILD muscle and improve muscle tone. HC reduces muscle if you are at all high wiht it. 2. I got my initial 24hr urine tests thru D. Therese Hertoghe (not Theiry-I think they're siblings). He said 3 things --very low glucocorticoid metabolite excretion- suggested HC --very low androgen metabolit excretion-suggested DHEA 25mgs, transdermal Testosterone --Low GH A) This states unequivocally that oyu need HC. Were you ON HC when you did these labs? If so you need MORE, if not you needed to start. Have you tried GH? It might be very helpful to you but you ned good T3 levels and retestign IGF-1 before trying it as T3 really affects GH alot. It raises it, and when T3 is lwo it si normal to have low GH.Low androgens I woudl prefer to see testosterone used in stead of DHEA, btu for men it might help to go on LOW dose as long as cortisll levels are good on current HC dosing. 3. If my SHBG has risen from 29 to 40 since taking HC and Armor- How does this fit in with this? A) this bind more testosterone causing you to need even more 4. Does taking thyroid meds affect testoterone/ increase catabolism? A) Takign THyroid does nto increase catabolism, BUT it does raise SHBG anbd thus makeyou need Testosterone even more. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Thanks- Figuirnf this out is such a pain. And my doctor is willing to try things, but he never pointed any of this out. 1. I was not on HC when I took Hertoghe's test. I am now on 7.5mgs only in the morning. I tried up to 35mgs split with afternoon, but as i said it made me feel terrible. I couldn't increase it without looking and feelind bad so i backed off. Now that I've backed off I've gotten stronger and look better. 2. I have never tried GH but again, Dr Hertogue suggested testing further for GH, and my doctor never followed up. He also suggested I get a tesoterone patch, which I only used for 1 month. I don't know if it did anything. 3.If I do the tersoterone again, those patches cost $120 a month. Is there a cheaper way? 4. This Dr Hertoghe's analysis was in depth and fantastic. I would highly recommend him. But my doc didn't really emphasize it and instead did blood tests. I wish he would have followed up- but i still have the results I casn show to someone else. > > 1. Guest guest
Wow Val you blow me away with your knowledge. You said Thyroid will raise SHBG which means you need more testosterone. I just went back and checked blood tests and bingo before going to Naturethoid at a higher level my SHBG was 27 and my tesosterone was 12. After 5 weeks of Naturethoid my SHBG is now 39 and Testosterone wet to 10 and is at the bottom of the range of (10-55) I just started Testosterone but think I may not be converting properly but posted another question about that. My question here is what happens to Estrogen and Progesterone when SNBG goes up? Thanks > > > > 1. Guest guest
Byumping up for Val. Did some reading today on SHBG. I now understand why I need testosterone. > > Wow Val you blow me away with your knowledge. > > You said Thyroid will raise SHBG which means you need more testosterone. > > I just went back and checked blood tests and bingo before going to Naturethoid at a higher level my SHBG was 27 and my tesosterone was 12.
