Guest guest
Hey Caroline!! You asking if anyone has letter heads and that kind of thing for the DW products? In general coconut oil is one of those things that is really hard to gauge.. For months I have been trying to figure out coconut oils and laws pertaining to it etc.. The one on DW is a brand that is supposed to be good. So is Barleans, Tropical Traditions, Garden of Life.. It is important to get cold pressed organic without the Hexane! I hope someone else will have some more definitive info for you!! Guest guest
Hi Jodi, How have you been? Ian got down to 2 mgs prednisone and starting having mild symptoms, so I'm revisiting some of the products I've been using. I know DW has been around for some time, but I also see they sell some non-compliant things on their site. Just concerned about if they are legal. Would hexane be listed as an ingredient? Don't see anything about that anywhere on the label. I e-mailed the person Gay suggested. Hoping to get more info. Thanks guys. Guest guest
Caroline, I know that Digestive Wellness works very hard at making all of their products SCD-compliant. They do take it seriously, because they are also kosher, and are aware of how important dietary issues can be. Of course, you know how I feel about most commercial products, apparently legal or not -- I usually say, " Make your own! " That said, coconut oil, 100% pure honey, and legal vanilla extract should be fine. I have not personally used those products from their website -- I get my coconut oil from tropical traditions, and my honey from a local bee-keeper (although Breaux Mart pure honey works when the bee-keeper's isn't available!). I got my vanilla extract from Lucy's kitchen shop, and have been very pleased with it. I'm really excited to hear that Ian got down to only 2 mgs of prednisone! <fingers crossed> that he'll be off it entirely soon! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

" Marilyn, Do I have to bring a bee hive into my apartment and a coconut tree? Isn't it enough that I make my own eggs? > I'm really excited to hear that Ian got down to > only 2 mgs of prednisone! <fingers crossed> that he'll be off it entirely soon! He's on hold for the next week, until exams are over. Then he'll continue to taper. He's not 100%, but sure is a far cry from last summer. I still credit your souffle bread suggestion as the start of his stabilizing. Thank you!!!!
