Guest guest
First off, I wanted to say thank you all for your responses to my coffee condiment questions and the Austin/Houston restaurant suggestions. Your responses are a wealth of knowledge for me. I have had UC for 6 1/2 yrs. As many know it comes and goes and there have been times where I have absolutely no symptoms. When I started the SCD diet three months ago I was still on Prednisone (and tapering)from my worst flare yet. My symptoms were already dissipating due to the Prednisone so I was worried that once off Prednisone my symptoms might come back. Aside form a cement feeling in my stomach in eating almond flour (something I never ate pre SCD), I pretty much have not had any reactions to food while being the diet or prior...aside from UC symptoms of which i could not tag to any one specific food or foods. I see comments from people who say when introducing food, to try the new item and see if you have a reaction. This somewhat confuses me - if I did not have a reaction to some foods in the past (pre SCD intro) then why would I have a reaction now? Also, how much time should I allow in introducing a food before I know it is safe and can move on to another food item? A week? A month? Thanks in advance for your help. aiazeen UC 6 1/2 years SCD 3 month 1 day
