Ruth,

I took it easy for a couple of days. Actually we went to a train museum 3 says after I got out of the hospital. As far as exercise you need to talk to the dr about that. I felt fine, no pain or anything. Also be sure to ask about exercises for your arm. I did crawling the wall and one where you put a rope over the door. Check with the dr though. I will keep you in my prayers.

recovery time post mastectomy

Could anyone give me a general idea as to the recovery time for amastectomy? Some how I can't see me on the couch, remote or book inhand for any length of time. How long before I can get back to myexercise routene? Any and all answers appreciated. Thank youRuth

Hi Ruth,

What kind of exercise do you do? There's no heavy lifting (over 5lbs)

for 7 weeks, so no weight-training :-) There was not too much pain for

me, but until the drain(s) are taken out (3-4 days), you can't do much

exercise.

I actually felt more discomfort from the port that was put in at the

same time of my masectomy.
