Guest guest
I feel pretty good, not great yet. I'm still have muscle issues. But maybe that problems has always been bulging discs? I have trigger knots in the glutes and hips, and I'm with a new therapist who trained with Janet Travell to work on those. Mentally, no anxiety, no depression, mood better. Still have dry skin but it feels smoother. Also still stiff in the mornings, not terrible. And weight not coming off even with weight watchers and exercise 4 times a week. I lost .8lbs in 3 weeks, that's not great. If my Ft3 is 5.4, should I keep it at that level, or try higher to see how I feel? I was on 2 grains Erfa and 25mcg Cytomel to get that level, so that would be about 43mcg Cytomel and whatever converted from the T4. My doctor wants me down to 12.5 Cytomel and 2 grains Erfa. I don't want to decrease the T3 at this point. If I go up to 3 grains Erfa it will still be lower in the T3 than I've been doing? But my temps are pretty good at this level. Maybe I don't need to go higher to get more relief of symptoms? Maybe I need to hold and the body will adjust? > > > > >I feel okay. Guest guest
Colcroke- Has your depression lifted since taking T3? Here's something for the lower back/glutes issue. I lift weights and do squats- for years with no problems, even with signifianct weight. A few months ago I got the most severe pain when I was down at the bottom with a lot of weight- I almost passed out. A sharp pain in my lower back and sciatica down my left leg. MRI showed slightly bulging disc. A Physiatrist showed me something that really helped. Stand up and do like a lunge with your upper torso erect and only bending the leg that's good in front of you- leave the bad leg behind you straight - with your foot flat on the floor- so you feel the stretching in your front quad. Hold that position for a minute. What you're doing here is stretching the opposite muscle that hurt-your glutes. This increases the blood flow to that area. Do these a few times a day. Especially when the pain comes upon you, this can almost instantly relieve that pain, and I'm finding the long term pain is gradually subsiding. > > > > > > > >I feel okay. If you are fully converting then 25mcg is roughly equivalent to 1 grain. > >But my temps are pretty good at this level. Maybe I don't need to go higher to get more relief of symptoms? Guest guest
TY, Nick. I just got my ERFA refill today, Phew. So you say 25mcg of cytomel is equal to 1 gain of Erfa T4 and T3 if I'm fully converting. My doctor said the reason my FT4 was below range is that I'm a fast converter. Is this the reason? Or is really because the 2 grains of Erfa weren't giving me enough T4? > > > > >If my Ft3 is 5.4, should I keep it at that level, or try higher to see how I feel? So you say 25mcg of cytomel is equal to 1 gain of Erfa T4 and T3 if I'm fully converting. A rough approximation yes, which makes the 75 to 125 typical T3 dose equivalent to the 3 to 5 grain typical natural dose. It will take 6 weeks for that to take full effect moving in either direction, That T4 is like treacle in terms of stabilising. >My doctor said the reason my FT4 was below range is that I'm a fast converter. Is this the reason? I have no idea, sounds a bit implausible to me > >Or is really because the 2 grains of Erfa weren't giving me enough T4? Far more likely. The " typical dose " talked about on STTM is 3 to 5 grains so 2 is on the low side.
