because I thought the Cytomel was my problem. I feel better, but not great. I

now think it was the HC not the Cytomel causing me problems.

Adrenal fatgue? That is why doesn't HC work for me? I took a 24hr urine anlysis

test thru Dr Hertoghe that showed I had very low adrenal homrones.

What is the best way to test for it?

While I don't have a lot of answers for you I can tell you that I don't feel

much better/different on HC than off it. Because my fatigue and such are caused

by other things, aside from the adrenals.

Also too much HC will make you feel worse if you go above the amount you need.

The hard part if finding the dose you need.

HC doesn't seem to work for me either. I am still on it because I want to do the

T3 therapy before giving up entirely. And if I try to wean off the HC my adrenal

symptoms return. Which means the HC is doing *something* for me, just not what I

wanted it to do.

You didn't specify what hormones were in the test (was it a urine cortisol

test??) that are low. I had a urine cortisol test done that said I was still low

in cortisol and I was taking 25mg a day at the time. She increased me to 30mg a

day and I got worse...more RT3. Back down to 25mg.

I hope when I get on T3..I'm not in the same boat.

I hope someone has better answers for you.

Did the symptoms of dark circle/sweating/fatigue happen after adding in the T3?

Might mean not enough HC?

I have heard that HC can lower aldosterone. I think you can get a blood test for

that.

Val posted this one earlier about circles

It is often from low sodium which causes the cells to be dehydrated

and

thus the skin becomes more transparent and shows the indrlying tissue

color which si bluish to purple

Aldosterone regulates sodium as far as I know. There is a test for it

which has to be taken salt fasting.

You will get more help with adrenal issues from this group which

focuses on them

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Val started that one as well but has a couple of other mods there who

know a LOT more about adrenals than I do. I " mind the shop " here on

the RT3 side of things but havn't got the adrenal experience that they

have
