Guest guest
Ethel, or Dr. Chiu, I've been on prednisone for almost a year now. I originally started out taking 5mgs a day but it made my blood pressure go sky high. I cut back to 2.5/day and that I take half in the morning and half before bed. That seemed to take care of the pain in my leg that I've had for almost 2yrs. I'm to see an orthopedic surgeon at the end of the month and I'm sure he's going to recommend knee replacement surgery. My question is this. I've read that it's recommended that patients be off of prednisone before surgery. I've been trying to cut mine back by only taking the 1.25mgs in the morning and nothing at night and I'm not handling it at all. I wake up during the night in pain and it seems to take awhile in the morning to get me somewhat painfree after I've taken the prednisone. Am I right to be doing this or should I just continue taking the prednisone? jan
