Other people will certainly have other thoughts. I adapt to the day, so in your

example I'd probably take it at 8:30 when waking and then again at 10,1,4...

I'm never too precise since my schedule is fairly irregular.

I think the recommendation is to time it from waking. Put a note

against that day's average though that it was a late one so if it is

out of pattern you can ignore it
