Guest guest
I live in Eugene, Or and some friends brought over some gluten free deserts which had chocolate and sugar. I thanked them and gave them to my husband as he will eat gf any day. Question: They did this last year too. Do I say anything that I dont eat anything with sugar or chocolate or just let it go? I wish I could but the outcome is not worth it. -- JHscd 4 yearscd
Guest guest
Hi JH - I also have a couple of friends who are always telling me about the new GF stuff they saw at Trader Joe's. Sometimes they just talk about how delicious it is ... but often they'll say, " You should try it! " and then I will take the time to explain. But unless they ask specifically, I would just say thank you and give it to your husband. Most people just don't retain the information about our diet. Just remember how hard it was for US to remember exactly what was okay or not! The bottom line is that they are just trying to be gracious and make accommodations for your diet. I would accept the gesture as it's meant and not say anything unless they bring it up (for instance, " How did you like it? " or " Can you eat this? " ) Then you would have to give them the additional info. I also usually say " In general, I can't eat anything pre-made, but don't worry, I'm not deprived in any sense of the word. I eat delicious muffins, frozen yogurt, desserts, etc. - just not store- bought. Guest guest
Thank you, easier to say that than to go into the diet. This was all hand made at sweet life yummy deserts but all made with gf flour and sugar. So I wouldnt touch that with a ten foot pole. I will give it to my husband and be glad I have the will power to say thank you, an then not eat it.
