Guest guest
So I went to see a new doc today in hopes of having RT3 and adrenal issues worked out. I saw the physician's assistant for my initial visit so I could get in to see the guy before June. The PA was an older woman who seemed experienced, but she made some comments that I just don't think are accurate. I took all of my supplements this morning, took three doses of 5 mcg Cytomel, and had my appointment mid-afternoon. The PA ordered bloodwork, including thyroid labs, cortisol, iron and ferritin and more. She noted that it didn't matter what time of day we did the Cortisol blood test. She noted that blood tests for cortisol/adrenal issues are more accurate than saliva tests. She noted that it didn't matter that I had taken three doses of Cytomel that day. Is she completely off-base, or am I worrying needlessly? I hate to waste insurance coverage on labs that will be useless. Thanks, LIsa
