Guest guest
Hi Louise, I was glad to see this reco. This is the approach I am taking as I need to transition my family to this. I am reading sites, and re- reading BTVC, and beginning to order supplies. My doc wants us on this ASAP, but I know myself - and my greatest chance for success is gradual vs. cold turkey - So, long story short, Thank you! Question, re: nut flours. I need to experiment with " bread " and pancakes, and I am beginning to understand that they are not all the same. Does anyone have preferences as to where they buy them? Do they buy them pre-ground, or grind themselves? If you want to respond to me off list, that would be fine - I appreciate any and all info, including preferred sources for issues like product quality, cost, coarse vs fine grind, different types of flours, etc. Thanks in advance, Kim in NJ, New to BTVC - Transitioning to SCD SBS/bowel resection Feb 03, GF since May 1 08 Two boys, ADHD, SPD, leaky gut, bacterial overgrowth age 3.5; GFCF since July 1 - Husband along for the ride and supportive, thankfully > I spent almost two months studying the book, experimenting > with SCD recipes and foods, and receiving e-mails from a group. > > I personally think that it's better to plan before jumping in, > but when you're ready, yes, then go " cold turkey " . > > A few things helpful during the planning stage: > > *start going off some of your fav foods which are not SCD- > compliant > *experiment with chicken broth and soups > *try " treat " recipes which use nut butter and nut flour.
