Hi Mike, I have no useful advice to give you, but just wanted to let you know, that you are not alone. Other people have posted about this symptom and I have experienced it myself. It was very random - 4 years after having colitis and way before I even knew about the diet, I started getting the sharps pains. It didn't really correlate with any of my other symptoms, but did get a tiny bit worse with flares. What I can say however is that I've been on the diet for more than a year, and after a year, am in remission now - the pains have also gone away. I do not think the pains are dangerous per say but I am not a doctor, so if they get worse, I would mention them to your doc.
