Actually, I think it may be an error. I would consider rice BRAN to be

illegal, but rice bran oil (which is also sometimes used) is likely legal

for the same reasons corn oil or other grain or seed oils would

be.

There is a kind of rice bran that is free of starch and

I read the other day that a company has filed a patent

on making starch-free flour out of it

From what I read it seems that the technique is mostly about

grinding it super fine and then mixing it with proteins

Interesting, of course one wonders if altering food like that will lead to

other problems...

Gee, ya think? ;-)

Don't mean to sound like a wiseguy but I think we can be confident

that manipulating food, at both the macro and micro levels, is

problematic.

Macro: I believe the migration toward a grain/starch-heavy diet can be

trouble for some people (raises hand)

Micro: I feel there's pretty strong evidence that modified, processed

food isn't good for anybody

Just my opinion, of course :-)
