Guest guest
I woulda gone for blood work today but ate something in error, and as I understand it I need to do bloodwrok fasting. What labwork would indicate infection, other than white blood cells count? This 'infection' has been going on for over a month. My lynmph glands near my jawbone and by my groin are stiff swollen and I've developed an intermittent funny cough so I fear some kind of lymphoma. Which blood tests would rule out a lymphoma? The reason i fear a lymphoma is because my platelets have been decreasing to below ranges, as well as my red blood cells, and my weakness is a bit more severe than I expect it to be on 40-45 mcg cytomel. Most of all, I suspect it because when my thyroid was removed another sixty lymph nodes were removed, of which about 15 were cancerous. They were all on the left side of my neck and the left ear is wehre I feel most pain and hardened lymph nodes. I feel like burying my head in the sand, just continue taking high doses of hc to deal with the pain, and don't know of any more illness Just be a physically well person who is only tryint to get her thyroid meds right. Depends what blood work. Thyroid labs only need you not to have taken your thyroid meds the day of the draw Nick
Guest guest
Nick, I had to laugh when I read your post. I agree with you on the timing of meds vs labs, btw. I saw a new doc this week who specializes in bioidential hormones and supposedly understands the RT3 and adrenal issues. I had taken three 5 mcg Cytomel prior to my appointment and also had taken several iron supplements. According to the physicians assistant - and also LabCorp customer service - it doesn't matter that I had taken either of these. This just makes no sense to me at all. I'm sure the labwork is going to be skewed. Given that I had taken my Cytomel, how do you think the labwork will be skewed? Will it have any value at all? >I woulda gone for blood work today but ate something in error, and as I understand it I need to do bloodwrok fasting. If it's low then you are definately low! It it's over range don't worry, it's skewed If it is " normal " you may well be under medicated Nick
