The road to diagnosis and getting gluten-free can really SUCK - so a

lot of us here know what you'r feeling. I can't say when it will get

better, but it WILL get better.

Treat yourself right for a few days - I've had a pretty bad week -

just got diagnosed with " essential hypertension " and to treat it I

have to stop the hormone therapy I've been on, which means that I'll

be having either minor or major surgery real soon to treat the problem

that the hormones were supposed to treat, pluw I get to start blood

pressure medicine. Bleck.

So, Lent or not, tonight I microwaved a Mariposa GF brownie, diced it,

mixed it into chocolate ice cream and covered the whole thing with

Magic Shell. It may not cure medical problems, but it sure made me

feel better!

Rent a favorite movie, buy a new book, get flowers - just make sure

you do something nice for yourself tomorrow!

Hang in there.

Making a lot of support noises here. You certainly have my sympathy and emotional support. Being not-well is no fun.

best wishes

Depression is setting in

Hi EveryoneI just wanted to drop you all a line to say HELP. I feel so bad and it just doesn't seem to be getting better. I told everyone on the last post that my 6 week check up did not come back good. My blood count is less than one and I started my IV iron infusion last week. I have 7 more weeks to go. I had an allergic reaction to the iron, they put some sort of steroid in my system..well you know how that makes you feel and at this point, I did not need to feel any worse than I already do. I'm so constipated and tired..my legs hurt worse than ever and now I have had 3 days of indigestion!! I am so tired of being sick and tired. I don't know what to do anymore. Honestly. I get sick of hearing myself talk about it, I can only imagine what others feel about me. If anyone can give me some great words of encouragment or something, it would be greatly appreciated. I really need some shoulders right now.ThanksKim

{{{{{{Kim}}}}},

That's awful that you had a reaction to the treatment but hopefully it's clearing up now and you will be feeling better soon. Try and Focus on getting better, not what others may think or the house or work or anything like that. Those will be there to take care of once you are feeling well.

It's ok to vent here...we've all been there (tired of feeling sick and tired-- I think I've said that more than my fair share of times over the past ten years). At least you have found a place where others really know what you are going through. And now know why you don't feel so well.

Don't feel bad about taking naps...you have a right to them, you need to get better and take care of yourself before you can take care of anything else. If you have small children, see if a family member or neighbor can help out until you are feeling better. If you have older children give them some jobs to help out (even the youngest will be proud to be able to make mom feel better by maybe giving a massage on her aching legs, or fixing her a cool compress for her head or sitting quietly watching a favorite show together.)

Sending lots of prayers, get well vibes, and hugs your way--and a great big bandaid to help you heal faster :-)

Kim,

I am so sorry, I feel so bad for you. I know what it is like to feel

so bad for so long that mental fatigue and depression set in. I know

that most of the people on this group do too. And it does suck. But

you will find a lot of shoulders here. Hang in there and believe

that it will get better.

I have never had IV iron, but was on high dose supplements for a

while and magnesium seemed to help the constipation a lot. Maybe

something to ask your doc about? And whatever you do don't dismiss

the depression. It can become a horrible cycle to get out of

especially when you feel so bad all over. Please talk to your doctor

about it.

I am sending all kinds of good thoughts your way and an extra

shoulder.

So Istarted giving her the cough syrup and she is able to rest. I've read several articles on it, and according to some of thereviewers the study was too small and too short to actually be meaningful. My son, asthmatic and slightly immuno-compromised, does much betterwith a cough syrup/decongestant combo recommended by his doctor. He,like probably a lot of kids with stuffy/runny noses, coughs at nightwhen the mucus drips in his throat. The decongestant helps stop that.Maureen > OK, Gabby's been gluten-free for 2.5 weeks...the doc said she should> be more energetic when she's been on the diet for a few weeks!> (Lord, help me!)
