Guest guest
Hi again, Just wanted to check in to get any new advice in my journey so far. I was not sure if it is okay to hit reply from this post or not since it is quite old. I did what my doctor requested and went one month on the Synthroid 50mcg. and 5mcg Cytomel two times per day. New labs were as expected: Free T3...287 pg/dL (230-420) went up a little from 207 Free T4 ..0.9 ng/dL (0.8-1.8) went down a little from 1.1 TSH 2.74 mIU/L(0.40-4.50) went down a little from 2.71 T3 Reverse 33 ng/dL(11-32) stayed the same My doctor say she would be fine with T3 only but did not no how to dose that. I showed her the dosing plan and talked about iron and temp. charts and all is good so far. Since we last talked I have been charting temps. and also marking pulse 3x per day. The first nine days were low but stable (hypo), then it went wild for about 12 days, and the last 10 days have been good: most present first..98.7, 98.6, 98.6, 98.8, 98.6, 98.7, 98.8, 98.6, 98.5, 98.6. Basil temps. have been between 97.8 - 98.3 in the last 10 days. Pulse ranges between 80 - 88 bpm. I began taking iron on 12/26 - started off slow but have raised every couple days (was afraid of problems) I take a total of 108mg of Ferrachel, 22.5mg of fumerous fumerate in my vitamins, and 6.2 of iron(type?) in Chlorella. Total intake is now approx. 136.7mg. Should I up the Ferrochel one or two more? Also I take all my supplements after I eat (which is 1 hour after T3) to prevent upset tummy. Is it okay to take my multi vit., calcium, B complex, Vit c, chlorella, and Iron all at the same time as I have been doing or will this prevent the Iron from working it's best? Also, should I be tested again for Ferritin in 2 months or how long? T3 only has been a slow process as suggested. Began on 1/1 and immediately found that the dosing worked best if I broke it up in about 5 doses per day to be able to tolerate it. I was planning to raise on every 5th day by 6.25mcg as long as temps. and pulse looked good and I felt okay. Please advise on this. Right now I take sublingually: 12.5mcg - after basil temp./wake up 6.25mcg - 3 hours later 6.25mcg - 3 hours later 6.25mcg - 3 hours later 6.25mcg - 3+hours later (bedtime) So far I haven't had any serious problems. Once and a while I feel like I have pressure in my chest mainly as the day goes by(almost like trapped gas), and I still wake up at night very hot/sweating (behind neck and knees). The waking up hot has actually increased from once per night to up to four times per night. I am most tired in the afternoon still (when my cortisol was at it's lowest), but I know that this takes time with supplements (Adrenoltone Plus by Designs for Health). Also please advise on any labs that should be done that may not have been done before. Thank you, Marcy > > > > > The iron and the Cytomel are another story since I must obtain a Rx. Let me try to get this right: I can take the iron, along with the T3 and use the dosage chart (dropping T4) and begin as soon as my doctor is on board. Can I also work on adrenals at the same time if they are not too out of wack? > > > > Yes, the ideal is adrenals first and then add thyroid but your > > adrenals look reasonable > > > > >Right now I am taking herbal treatment for them as sleeping was not good. I am sleeping some now as I wake up feeling refreshed compared to before. However, sometimes I still feel tired in the afternoon when cortisol seems to be at it's lowest (not as bad though). > > > > > >Free T3 = 207 (230-420), > > > > Very Hypo > > > > >Free T4 = 1.1 (0.8-1.8), > > Not a problem, depends what you were taking > (Synthroid 50mcg everyday except Monday and Thursday on which I take 75mcg Synthroid) > > > > > TSH = 2.71 (0.40-4.50), > > > > Hypo > > > > >Reverse T3 = 33 (11-32), > > > > Too high, T3 only needed > > > > >Iron = 113 (40-175), > > >Ferritin = 41 (10-232), > > > > Low, needs lots of supplementing, ideal 70-90 > > > > >Adrenocorticortropin Hormone 11 @9am(5-27), > > > > Don't know > > > > >Salivary Cortisol and DHEA was done through Genova Diagnostics and the > > >7-9am =1.05,reference range = (0.27-1.18 mcg/dL) > > >11am-1pm =0.16, = (0.10-0.41 mcg/dL) > > >3pm-5pm =0.18, = (0.05-0.27 mcg/dL) > > >10pm-12am=0.24, = (0.03-0.14 mcg/dL) > > > > They look pretty reasonable, the night level is a bit high but T3 > > supplementation with a bed time dose may be enough to sort that out > > > > What are your temperatures doing??
