Guest guest
Robin: After I posted my comments about smoking I was chastized (mildly) by Joy. She feels that with all the pressure of the battle with the insurance company, the surgery itself and all it might be better to quir briefly for a few weeks before and after the surgery but put off long term quitting till she has lost some weight and life is beginning to get better. I have a 19 year old son who I adopted as an infant. When I got word that we would be able to adopt him I decided that I wanted to see him grow up and haven't had a cigarette since. He is now in college. But I have to say that I can't say anything about people quitting smoking because I did try to do it for many years and failed miserably. Much like I've tried to lose weight for years and failed miserably. That I was finally sufficiently motivated is beside the point. Everybody is wired differently and what I can do someone else may not be able to do. And what they can do maybe I cannot. I think I'll leave it that I'm thankful that I was able to quit. I wish everyone who wants to could. But we all have our own dragons to slay and have to fight them ourselves. We leave tomorrow morning for Portland. Hopefully I'll be able to get on line from there tomorrow night. But If not Joy will definitely keep everyone posted on my progress. Regards to all.
