Guest guest
Surely you don't weight 2005 pounds... ha..just kidding!!! I am on my 3rd week. On my first week..I heard from this group that 3 & 4th days are the worse.. so I knew it was coming. Think about what foods you can have and maybe take a few extras. I was having a melt down at work my first week and I made some caffeine tea..it helped...although not good.. But I only drink one glass--actually only half of it while i'm at work. Also if that didn't help I got some Wintergreen Life Savers SUGAR FREE and had only one and ate it slowly thinking it was a great prize of the day!!!! I "tricked" my thinking some but it helped for me. All day long I thought "if you're good all day you get a yummy sugar free fudgesicle tonight". Plus as i ate celery which I don't eat usually before going on SBD..I thought it was the best thing I could eat allday.. ha There's a BIG list of available foods for phase 1.... find ones that are right for you beautifulspirit2000 wrote: Hi iam new to this southbeach diet i need some help with some sugar cravings and i want to know of any sucess stories you may have i never been on a diet before so just a little incouragement will help iam 5"1 and 2005 pounds i hate this weight it has to come off iam 32 and it seems like the older i get the more harder it is to keep it off i would love to lose 60pounds any advice you have would be great thanks.Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Guest guest
See, for me, when I hit the half-ton mark, I didn't like it, so with you at five pounds over one ton, it must be horrible. Now, to get serious, the best advice I can give you is read the book, then read it again. Follow what it says. Phase one should get you past your cravings. I'll have been on the Beach for two years this August, and it's great. Guest guest
Try saving them first to a different format, and if that doesn't work, you may have to zip it and try that way. Either way, anyone with dial up would experience alot of the same issues in order to download and view. Hope this helps. I have NO idea how to make the picture smaller or etc. and I didn't want to send them to you Melody because I remember you saying that you have dial up and I now how slow dial up is especially with large files. Can someone give me instructions on how to make the pictures smaller? OR can I send them to someone who can do it for me that has a fast connection? I have the proof for my bonus points dang it! LOL! Let me know. Thanks, Barbie

Guest guest
I am new to the group and sure do appreciate all the advice offered here. I had a baby last may and had a placental abruption and lost a lot of blood and had a transfusion. Since that traumatic time I have been wrestling with serious fatigue, dizzy spells, headaches etc. Finally a midwife ran some blood work kn me and discovered high TSH. I also did saliva cortisol and was vey low in the mornings. My PCP ran blood cortisols and those were normal. He convinced me to see an endo and she ran some pituitary tests which were all normal. I am also breastfeeding successfully. The endo and my PCP kept telling me I really needed the levothyroxine and that I didn't need the adrenal support stuff I was on (pregnenolone, Dhea, adrenacalm pm, and adrenastim am). So I believed them and went off all that and onto synthroid within 24 hours I felt way way worse than ever before. So I came off it and found a new holisitc practitioner who reccommended armour and said the t3 in it might five me a little jump start. Armour didn't give me the same adverse reaction synthroid did but I still didn't feel great so he called in a prescription for cytomel 5 mcg 1 tablets 1-2 times a day. I have been cuttingthose into halves and trying to take at least at least 4+ halves a day without food. So far I'm not feeling much better. Here are my labs: Cortisol 10 nM between 6-8 AM cortisol 4 between 11-noon cortisol burden 18 TSH 7.7 antithyroglobulin 111.5 high free t4 1.15 t3 uptake 31% I haven't had a free t3 or a rt3 done I guess I'm just so discouraged that it's been 8 months and ifeel no closer to getting better and enjoying my son. I know I am working with a good doctor though who is willing to work with me and help me. Any thoughts? Am I on the right track? I'm also gluten and dairy free ( I would like to have ELISA testing done) and I also take a food iron supplement am back on adrenal support protocol and have included dsf (an adrenal glandular)
