Guest guest
Today I was lucky enough to attend a celiac luncheon in San , California- People had really done a ton of work putting it together, and we had a full and gorgeous menu with appetizers (tomato mozarella salad, my FAVORITE, spinach cheese dip with corn chips), a lovely italian salad with balsalmic vinagrette (also my favorite), two kinds of GF pasta, one with a red sauce and one with an alfredo, both vegetarian, and then side servings of chicken or salmon... Dessert was the most DIVINE chocolate creme brulee I've ever had. So wonderful! I realized what was the coolest part, menu wise- not having to ask a single question about the menu. How often does THAT happen? Never! We got to take home lovely little baked goods in a goodie bag- really wonderful cookies (snickerdoodle and chocolate fudge) and chocolate dipped biscotti baked by a local GF baker. Very relaxing and very fun to meet other celiacs from the area as well. (Lest you think it was just all about the food!!!) And, two doctors from the Stanford celiac clinic gave talks as well. A very nice afternoon, full of gluten free dancing!
