Guest guest
Hi Val and Nick Following on from my thyroid results last week which were - TSH <0.05 Free T3 5.1 (2.6-5.7) Free T4 5 (9-19) Ferritin 45 I now have my Reverse T3 results which is very low at only 0.08 (0.14-0.54) Now I don't understand why I have not been able to tolerate much T3 or move it up even though I am now at week 7 of T3 only with just last week of adding in 1/2 grain. I have definitely benefited from the half a grain ERFA but won't take anymore but surely apart from the low ferritin I don't really understand my intolerance. I have been taking 400mg ferrous sulphate for 8 weeks now. Pam

Under 50 people ahve all kinds of issues almost always. > Thanks Val Does this mean that there should be no problem with my slowly raising the EFFA rather than the plain T3 from now on, presumably no reason to stick with T3 only though I know from last year I did well with some plain T3 at lunchtime in addition to the 1 1/2 grains on waking (now only 1/2 grain am). Guest guest
NO! Not untilyour ferritinis 70-90. As long as it si this low if oyu increase anything with T4 it will make more RT3., It will come right back. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Unfortunately in November 3 weeks after my crash I didn't have Reverse T3 tested and the lab didn't do T3 either but my T4 was only 7 then. Presumably my severely stressed adrenals (despite meds) at that time would have sent the Reverse T3 very high then and its nothing to do with the level of T4 in my case? I only ever took 1 1/2 grain all year plus 12.5 T3. The severe stress had been ongoing for a few months before the crash and after it I couldn't tolerate really any thyroid meds for 3 weeks and then in only tiny amounts after which left me severely hypo. Since the addition of the 1/2 grain my energy is returning but stamina still poor and I have got a nasty throat infection at the moment so needed an antibiotic but responding well to it. Just trying to understand so that it doesn't happen again! Pam
Guest guest
For those of us that make RT3 too easily ANY T4 can be detrimental. Whne I tried to go back to natural thyroid even 1 grains I felt horrible on and though I did nto get lasb to confirm the Rt3 riuse, I FELT it and knew it was ntothe way to go. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
