Guest guest
I also have a nephew Isaac - that makes 5. When I was in my teens I always said I would call my son Isaac - fortunately went off it as I grew older as I married a good Irish Catholic and ended up with 4 saints/family names - , ( not a family name - scandal), Helen and (again not a family name but named after the saint - MIL's idea not mine - we just liked the name). Isaac would have been too Protestant/Old Testament for IL's. MIL objected to , 's second name, as too Protestant, even though I have since found out that in her husband's family there are several cousins called . DH and his twin sister were named after the naming system in her family - and Ellen. But Mike and I decided long before we got married that we would not call our children or Margaret. Fortunately my parents who never liked their names agreed and would have been very upset had we used any of them. Georgina Galvin SAHM mother of 4 - the youngest of whom is 8 today! Guest guest
was almost an Isaac, but then I wrote his full name down and looked at the initials: Isaac Dick! Georgina Galvin wrote: > I also have a nephew Isaac -

He ended up as Jack , no one could object my dad was Jack and FIL Jack. 2nd Boy , named after my Granddad and uncle. MIL not too keen. 3rd Boy Isaac , neither MIL or FIL impressed, In fact their comment was " Where on earth did you get that name from " " Its a bible name isn't it? " " Its Jewish isn't it? " I love it - I could not have called him something like Darren or it would not have gone with Jack or , but all the boys names I like, are the J's like ph etc., could not possibly have another J sounding name. Also since I started researching the family tree I have also found out it is a family name, so no problem, and they all have saints names as well!! Guest guest
DS1 is Arthur ( as it was all we could agree on and is DH's middle name) Arthur after my Dad who died 4 days before I know I was pregnant. Olivia Paige, Olivia after a favourite child I had nursed who died and Paige DH, SIL and my sister's choice (I'm still getting used to it!) - just 'cos we liked it (MIL " You can't call him that it's not a family name " , FIL then dug out his family tree and there is one or two but she has only just started to call him by his name!) is DH's confirmation name (Catholic) - 'cos we liked it (no, before you ask, he is not named after my sister's smelly St Bernard called Teddy, despite what she will tell you!) after DH. So he got all the boys and I got all the stretch marks!!!!! Guest guest
My MIL got quite uncomfortable when we named our sons and kept making comments about all the names being biblical/religious (Luke , Zachary and Mark), but she soon shut up when I pointed out that (dh) wasn't without its biblical connections!
