Hi,

My name is Rod and I've finally found out why I've been feeling so rough the

last 2.5 years, it is due to RT3.

I was diagnosed with Graves, and I had RAI about 4 years ago, and ended up with

virtually no thyroid function. I was put on T4 meds (150 ug), but I starting

feeling more and more tired. Finally diagnosed myself with adrenal issue and

went on HC for 6 months.

Started to feel great, but mistakenly let my doctor reduce my T4 ,med whilst I

was weaning myself off the HC. Bad Mistake!!!

I went hypo and low cortisol at the same time - didn't know what was going on

and tried to hang on and hope things got better, then eventually increased my T4

again to 150ug but I was quite rough for maybe 6 weeks.

Then realised I need to increase my HC as well, and panicked and I think I did

too much ~40mg a a day plus loads of Vitc, B vits and Adrenal glandulars. I

think I went for maybe 2 months on quite high adrenal support before bringing

it down.

Felt rough for the last 2.5 years and finally got my RT3 tested, results are

TSH 0.46 (0.4 - 4.0) mIU/L

FT4 17.1 (10 - 22) pmol/L

FT3 4.12 (2.8 - 6.5) pmol/L

RT3 0.67 (0.14 - 0.54) pmol/ml

Ferritin = 157 (20 - 345)

B12 to be tested

I think my ratio is just over 6 - is this correct.

Anyway, I'm waiting to get my T3 meds now, and I'd like to just say I'm relieved

that I now know why I've felt so rough the last few years, and hope that I can

clear this thing. I'm pretty sure that it was due to the episode of low adrenals

+ low thyroid then episode of high adrenals that caused all this, I was fine

before that.

Rod
