Guest guest
Yes you did the ratio correctly. It is pretty bad. I woudl say wiht low B12 and lowish Ferritin there is a good possibility oyu need iron as wellas B12 supplements. And have to se cortils labs to comment but it needs to be supported bnefreo going on all T3 whihc you really need. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Thanks Val, I take Iron (Floradix) for the moment and I am sure I will need B12. We have problem with low B12 in the family. The salivary cortisol and DHEA results: 7AM - 9 AM...0.35 (0.27 - 1.18) 11AM - 1PM...0.13 (0.10 - 0.41) 3PM - 5PM....0.15 (0.05 - 0.27) 10PM - 12PM..0.05 (0.03 - 0.14) DHEA 7am - 9am...102(71 - 640) DHEA/Cortisol Ratio/10.000...291 (115 - 1.188) No wonder I feel like a zombie and still all my test results are within the accepted ranges...not to talk about TSH which is SO good! I have so much to learn here. Thanks to Val and Nick and all others on this list. > > Yes you did the ratio correctly. It is pretty bad. Guest guest
7AM - 9 AM...0.35 (0.27 - 1.18)Ideally 1.0 so you are VERY low here 11AM - 1PM...0.13 (0.10 - 0.41) SHoudl be at least .20 so again very low 3PM - 5PM....0.15 (0.05 - 0.27) Pretty good levels here 10PM - 12PM..0.05 (0.03 - 0.14) Little low again. DHEA 7am - 9am...102(71 - 640) Low here too indicating adrneal reserves are shot I think you will need HC for these levels but oyu could try Isocort first. It is OTC and available online only. Make certain you are takign enough iron as it is hard to bnring it up. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Val, My cortisol tests were done on a Sunday when I was off from work. Before the 3PM-5PM I slept for 3 hours, so I think that may have had an impact. No wonder I did not have the strength to go and take a shower in the morning... The only good thing here is that I feel I have a doc who understands pretty much of all this. She told me to start with HC first and go up from 2,5mg/day to about 15mg a day, before starting swapping the syntethic T4 to Erfa Thyroid. My doses are now : HC...10+10+5+5 and I may go up to 35mg/day if I need to HC is good for me, also the psoriasis (both skin and joint) I developed a couple of years ago... Erfa Thyroid...0.5G + 0.5G Synthetic T4...0.05mg The plan is to go up to 1G+1G Erfa and leave the synt T4. And after this I guess I have to tackle the RT3 problem... My doc also told me to take: Selenium................1 Omega 3 Forte capsules..1+2 Magnesium 200mg.........1+2 D-vitamin...............4000 IU/day Floravit or Floradix for Iron Any ideas about effective Iron supplements would be great. I am feeling better already so I am going to fight this battle. Actually I felt better the day I got the Erfa receipt in my hand. > > 7AM - 9 AM...0.35 (0.27 - 1.18)Ideally 1.0 so you are VERY low here > 11AM - 1PM...0.13 (0.10 - 0.41) SHoudl be at least .20 so again very low > 3PM - 5PM....0.15 (0.05 - 0.27) Pretty good levels here > 10PM - 12PM..0.05 (0.03 - 0.14) Little low again. > > DHEA 7am - 9am...102(71 - 640) Low here too indicating adrneal reserves are shot > > I think you will need HC for these levels but oyu could try Isocort first. Guest guest
Only place I disagree wiht your plan is I owuld lose the T4 only meds NOW. They are only creatign more RT3 and not helping. AND for Iron Blue Bonnet Bisglycinate seems ot be the best tolerates with 150-200mg a day needed to raise ferritin levels. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Thanks Val for encouraging me to leave the T4, that is really what I feel I want to do. I have been taking HC for almost 4 weeks and feel that it works. Also my temps are not fluctuating so much anymore. If I go too fast, I can always go back. I ordered Iron Blue Bonnet Bisglycinate:) > > Only place I disagree wiht your plan is I owuld lose the T4 only meds > NOW. They are only creatign more RT3 and not helping.
