Please let me know your thoughts. Is a high TSH result to be expected when on T3 only and no T4? I'm shocked by my result!! How much are you on?? It's left you horribly hypo. That FT3 lurking at the bottom of the range is why the TSH is high. You either need a LOT more of the SR or to carefully swap onto standard T3 and multi dose through the day. Guest guest
> How much are you on?? It's left you horribly hypo. Hi Nick. I know I feel hypo too. This isn't working obviously. I take 22.5 mcg in the morning and 15 mcg in the evening of the Slow Release T3. After I saw the web page you created on RT3 (I heard about it on STTM site/radio call with ) I asked my Naturpath doctor to switch me to muti-dose T3 (Cytomel) but he said it wasn't necessary for me since I have NO THYROID gland/function. I'm so frustrated. I've gained 15 pounds in 3 months and I feel more energy but I feel it is because the T3 is in my blood and not making it to my cells. I think my doc will want to have me start a T4/T3 combination soon like dessicated thyroid from Erfa or a compounded version but I don't know if I'm ready for this. I feel like this Slow Release therapy may have made my adrenals worse than they were. Thanks > > Nick >

I was better off and feeling better (although not optimal) on the Synthroid than on this Slow Release crap. My purpose and goal here though is to get off the Synthcrap forever. I guess I need to find another doctor. Anyone know a good one in Ventura/Santa Barbara CA?

Since I've been thyroidless since 1992 (due to RAI treatment) I thought I my Free T4 would be ZERO after 3 months of NO Synthroid! Does this mean that I may have some thyroid gland function left? > TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) is produced by the pituitary to stimulate the thyroid gland to produce T4. Usually, taking T3 will drive production of TSH down. If you are as you say, " thyroidless " , there is nothing upon which the TSH can act so, at least theoretically, no T4 should show up in you labs. Puzzling! Were you doing WTS? Did you taper down per WTS, directions? Sounds like a)you still have some active thyroid gland or , you got someone else's labs. It will be interesting to see what your rT3 is - just its presence would seem to indicate that you're producing some T4, since rT3 is a product of only T4 conversion, though not much, well below bottom of range. " _______ Yes I obviously have some active thyroid tissue left, since after 3 months of no T4 supplementation (Synthroid), it should have ALL disappeared by now. Here are my complete lab results including my REVERSE T3. Could someone tell me what my Free T3 to RT3 ratio is? I calculated it to be 40.(The lab indicates 2.6 picograms for my Free T3 although I believe it really is 2.6 NANOGRAMS (ng/mL) right? So 2600 pg/mL divided by 65 pg/mL is equal to 40? Did I do the math right here? My results: Reverse T3: 65 pg/mL Free T3: 2.6 pg/mL isn't this really supposed to be ng/mL instead of pg/mL??? Nanograms? TSH: 20 uIU/mL Free T4: 0.33 ng/dL DHEA: 156 ug/dL

Was I better off on Synthroid then? Thanks.
