Hi Group and Glenda,

I have had to have my thyroid checked every 6 months the past 5 years.

Yes I was a former smoker and smoking again after stopping for 16 years. I

know that horrifies everyone but once a smoker aways a smoker. It only takes

the first one to get you hooked again.

I'm doing very well with my RA. I was on minocin for several years so

about a month ago I switched to doxcycline. I had a slight flare from the

change which brought my sed rate up to 36, where it had been normal. I will

have a recheck along with my thyroid this next week. But I'm again pain free

and enjoying life. I still have an active RA factor which runs between 200

and 300. It will be interesting to see what happens now that I switched to

doxy. When I was at my worst with the AP treatment my RA factor was 1340.

Once I peacked out there it came down to where it is now and has stayed there

the past 4 years or is it 5 years. :o)

A.

RA 14 yrs. AP 11 yrs
