Guest guest
Just got back from my Rheumatology visit. Unfortunately, the Dr. had an emergency and had to return to the U.S. on emergency leave. I got my lab and x-ray results while I was there and I need some information from anyone who knows. My Random glucose test results (19OCT99) were 156 (high) the range on the report is 65-110. I have only had that test once before and it was 90 (24JUN99) so there is a big increase. I had to drive an hour and a half to get the blood drawn and I had only had coffee that morning. I didn't eat anything until after I had the blood drawn. It wasn't a fasting test though. I am a little concerned about diabetes. My father was an adult diabetic and controlled it with diet. I have been having some blurry vision and spells when I thought I might pass out. I have been trying to figure out if it is one of the medicines I take or what. I take Doxy, Celebrex, Enbrel, and Prilosec. I am planning to make an appointment with my GP next week so he can go over the results with me but I would like to know if there is something in particular that I should be looking for. What would cause the random glucose value to increase so much? I also had my RF factor rechecked (24JUN99) and it was 363. It was only 286 in 1996. What is the significance if any? Thanks for any insight. JB
