Guest guest
Is anyone out there taking SAM-e who wants to share how you're taking it (when, how much) and anything other related to the experience (like, does it help??)? Guest guest
Hi Joe, I am the anti-depressant (at least SSRI-type) guinea pig (self-appointed). I tried Sam-e for mood and arthritis. Although it is only known to help osteo, I figured at least here is an anti-depressant that wouldn't hurt my joints. (Prozac started my first symptoms of RA). Well, boy was I wrong! My mood improved almost immediately, however within a week or two I had a flare. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but I stopped it and am feeling better. I will probably try again sometime if my mood is bad, but now it's okay (it was never terrible; just not great). So bottom line is YES! A great anti-depressant for any people, but research shows no effect for RA so far, and in my case it did harm. If you DO decided to try it, buty the NatureMade brand. A pharmacologist pal of mine says it's the best. Good luck
Guest guest
Deb, Did you try the NatureMade brand of SAM-E? It's one of the only one's that's enterically coated to assure absorbtion and also is guaranteed to contain them amount of substance it says it does.
