subcutaneous mastectomy, has anyone had one?

Hi I am new to the group, I am from Brunswick Ga.I had a needle byopsy in 2002, and a lumpectomy on my left breastI have been on tamoxefen since. in feb. of this year my reg. mammo spotted a lump in the right breast, my oncoligist recomended subcutaneous mastectomy with reconstruction. I have consulted 2 surgens and they both recomend this, I will be seeing a plastic surgen on the 28th of this month. Have any of you had or heard of this? it is also called a skin sparing mastectomy. I am 52 years old and hope to learn as much as I can before surgery.

Here is a site that talks about both subcutanious and skin sparing

mastectomy. I am having the skin sparing procedure.
