Guest guest
>I am trying to fix my R-t3 issues but am currently on what I think is a high dose of generic cytomel (Paddock)- 140 mcg- 35 mcg 4 times a day. This morning my basal temp was 97.5. It has risen from 96 in general. I am never 98.6- at anytime, ever. I don't know your starting place in terms of labs so difficult to comment. 140 of the generic is quite possibly only equivalent 100 of the better product. The general guide is that most people need between 75 and 125 of T3 AFTER the resistance clears. While the RT3 is still there they may well be hypo on that sort of dose. >My ferritin is abiout 50. On the low side still, are you supplementing iron? >I take rhodiola rosea to support my adrenals (I am working with a ND). My blood pressure has gone lower (117/74 last night) and my pulse has risen from about 64 (on lower doses of t-3) to 72. I am on hydrochlorothiazide for high blood pressue but feel I could easily go off (I have been on for 10 years). I do not feel hyper at all except I felt my heart race once walking up a hill. Sounds good, are your average temperatures stable from day to day? (if you need the link let me know) > >So my questions.... >How high of a dose do people generally need to fix their r-t3 issue? enough to suppress T4 production, Once that stops you are " starving out " the RT3. >I am obviously REALLY resistant. Should I go any higher? >Is there a limit as to how high you should go? you can go higher but you need to be ready to drop dose suddenly when the RT3 clears which happens all at once, The safest way is to stay near where you are at the moment and put up with hypo but several of us (myself included) went higher and didn't suffer any adverse effects. Mr resistance was SEVERE, I had got up to 12 grains of Armour in order to feel well. I run a company and couldn't afford to spen time hypo so dosed the T3 to feel well, >How will I know my body is correctly using t-3? What will it feel like? For me I hit hyper, woke up in the night feeling hot and sweaty, fast pulse, feeling my heart beating in my chest, and a high temperature when measured. I dropped dose to about 1/3 what I was on, took each dose the next day after checking pulse, and settled on around half what I had gone up to, > >Thank you. I was on slow release t-3 for almost a year- up to 120 mcg. I felt better, but the problem was not fixed. I have been on cytomel since Dec. I am ready to get this fixed and get a decent metabolism. A perfectly reasonable ambition. I feel better on T3 only than I have done since I was at School, I am sure I was hypo then. Nick, this happens to me at night. I thought it was low cortisol but taking 5mg HC at bedtime it still happens. Could it be too much T3 at night? I have tried T3 at night too as well as both. Guest guest
Nick, Thanks for your response. I am on iron. I have read the website many times and learn something new each time I go there. You said: you can go higher but you need to be ready to drop dose suddenly when > the RT3 clears which happens all at once, > > The safest way is to stay near where you are at the moment and put up > with hypo but several of us (myself included) went higher and didn't > suffer any adverse effects. Just to clarify, if I stay on the dose (140 a day)I am on right now, it just will take longer for the r-t3 to clear, but it should clear? thanks! > > >I am trying to fix my R-t3 issues but am currently on what I think is a high dose of generic cytomel (Paddock)- 140 mcg- 35 mcg 4 times a day.
