Guest guest
> > I flew cross country on Thursday to see my sister and my heart, on the plane, was really giving me trouble: jumping beats, painful beats, etc. off and on the whole day. I skipped my T3 dose that night and did fine the next day until evening when I had a short episode. I went back to my regular dose of T3 (62.5mcg) MINUS 6mcg and today my heart was giving me trouble again after lunch. I'm feeling very bloated and 9 mos. pregnant instead of 6. But any insight into the heart issues? I feel as though I can't do anything but sit on the couch or my heart will act funny. My ferritin should be good still and I'm on 30 mg of HC, which may be too much right now but I'm not sure I want to lower it while I'm pregnant. Could I need to RAISE my T3? > > Help! > Thank you! > in CA > Is this (heart palp.) new for you? Change in temperature? Change in pulse rate? Was the plane trip 'stressful' for you or routine? Until this has your T3 therapy been stable for a while or are you still searching for amount that matches your needs? Anything else new, unusual or different about this? Guest guest
Just the changes in pregnancy can require you to need more thyroid hormones. I know when I was pregnant my doctors checked my levels every month to make sure they didn't change. Maybe you need some labs done to see where you are. How are your temps? Guest guest
> Could I need to RAISE my T3? It sounds like it could be adrenal rather than T3 but either are possible. What are your temperatures doing???? You are more likely to need an increase than a decrease while pregnant. Guest guest
No, I've had heart issues before when raising T3 but more like chest tightness that doesn't subside. The heart jumping and painful beats is more disturbing to me. The plane trip went smoothly but I'm sure caused some stress. I have been on T3 (again) for only 9 days this time around. I'm thinking today that maybe the T4 is not cleared from my system yet and that is why I'm getting these symptoms(maybe too much T3 right now? ) THanks, Lee, in CA > > Is this (heart palp.) new for you? Guest guest
I haven't taken my temps for the past week due to overcoming a cold but I just went back to the T3 routine after my labs showed high RT3 again. I'm really scared to increase my meds with my heart going so wacko right now. Like I wrote to Lee, maybe my T4 is still high and so I'm having hyper symptoms and need to hold off on increasing my T3? I'm really not looking forward to flying home again with my heart like this, it was very uncomfortable. Guest guest
Yes, I had labs about 3 weeks ago and my ND/MD told me over the phone that my RT3 was high again (he would not give me numbers over the phone and I see him on the 18th). Believe me, it's scarey, and sometimes I'm worried I'm not going to make it through this pregnancy, which is my first concern. > > Are you seeing an MD or an ND? Guest guest
I agree that the 18th is too far away to see my Dr.and I may need to get in to see a Dr. here while I'm away this week(probably won't even know what to do with me-sigh) to get my heart checked out. This has been going on since last Thursday and I did lower my T3 back to 50 mcg today and yesterday but still having a " beating drum " , painful heartbeats. Nick, you said it sounded like possibly adrenal, could it be caused by too much HC? Anyone experience bad heart symptoms after eating sugar or coffee(even decalf)? I'm at a loss to figure out what is going on here so I've been thinking of any possibility ,but really worried and not knowing what to do. Thanks for your input, in CA > > I know your appt is on the 18th, but you would think he would want to get you started on a treatment plan right away since you are pregnant. I hope all goes well. It is scary and even scarier when you are worried about your unborn baby. Guest guest
I am having some similar heart issues now, and I have had them in the past as well. For me it is usually not enough HC, even though I am on a high dose. In the past I found that raising the HC got my heart rate down and the palps down. When my heart starts acting up I do find that sugar makes it race. This is all happening now and I am waiting to get labs done to see what I need to do. Sometimes I just wake up and my heart is racing. My resting rate is in the 90's now. I hope you find your solution soon!

I'm at a loss to figure out what is going on here so I've been thinking of any possibility ,but really worried and not knowing what to do. It still sounds adrenal. Low cortisol can cause adrenaline to be produced and that can lead to a faster stronger heart beat. It often leads to cold sweats at the same time. A related condition is hypoglycemia and that can lead to shakiness and sugar related effects. Try stress dosing the HC, an extra 2.5 in the afternoon or an extra 5 in the morning and see if it relieves the symptoms. Nick
Guest guest
Thank you, Nick. I do not have enough HC with me to take extra but I will get the cream today and try stress dosing. Just hoping to get through this so I can fly home on Thursday. Tried to see some Docs on the recommended list but none will get me in. I appreciate this group and the suggestions so much. in CA (but VA right now) > > >Nick, you said it sounded like possibly adrenal, could it be caused by too much HC?> > It still sounds adrenal.
