Guest guest
After going on T3 to get t4 and rt3 cleared up, what keeps the rt3 build up from happening again when you go back onto naturethroid? Will this be a never ending cycle of having to from t3/t4 meds back to t3?After I got onto HC and 3 1/2 gr. of NT I was doing so well for a while then suddenly my temps dropped again. At least the temps aren't bouncing with HC but they just stay so low (94 - 97). Naturally I went up to 4 gr. and enjoyed about 3 days of temps in the 98's but then another sudden dump back down again... Guest guest
We hope to in the process of doing this clearing to find and correct the cause of the RT3 in the first place. Sometimes that doesn;lt happen as there are MANY causes of it and not all CAN be fixed. In that case we just remain on T3 only, and generally, it works welkl enough we do nto want or need to go back to natural or any med woiht T4 in it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Kem addresses that issue in his Doctors Manual and Nick talks about in thyroid-rt3. claims to have treated over 5k patients in last couple of decades, many of them successfully. He says many cases are similar to women who take a birth control med, go off it and discover their cycle has stabilized and they feel fine again without the b.c. hormones. Similarly, he says, stress drives rT3 dominance and that T3 treatement will knock that back into sync in most cases. He acknowledges that it doesn't work for everyone and, as near as I can tell, never gets into discussing the refinements of diagnosis and treatment that others, this group included do. While becoming informed about this condition, I did 5 cycles following , relapsing following each though feeling great before tapering down. I've since discovered the refinements, e.g., selenium, cortisol, iron, the strong relation between age and rT3 and more.I'm now a few weeks into my first attempt w/straight T3 AND dealing with the other stuff. Very pleased so far and feeling more confident I will get it under control. If you get and keep the other influences under control you probably have some chance of being able to live without T3. I don't think you can realistically predict that though. , aptly calls these " therapeutic trials " because the outcome is uncertain and response varies. You're in a the learning mode right now and one thing you've learned is that, where you are right now, your reaction to anything with T4 in it will be predictable. That suggests you're in the right group. Keep on. Guest guest
I suspect there might be a genetic thing going on, because lots of people have weird cortisone or ferritin levels or stress and they DON'T get RT3 problems. I wonder if some are just predisposed to get it under those conditions. Like we are just too sensitive to things. Guest guest
I wonder, does anyone reach an equilibrium with a mixture of NTH and T3? I wonder again if that can be a way to get the " presumed " benefits of NTH and at the same time preventing rT3 to get too high? > > After going on T3 to get t4 and rt3 cleared up, what keeps the rt3 > build up from happening again when you go back onto naturethroid? > Will this be a never ending cycle of having to from t3/t4 meds back to > t3? > > After I got onto HC and 3 1/2 gr. of NT I was doing so well for a > while then suddenly my temps dropped again. Guest guest
Interesting... But do you think it could simply be something genetic? Even if it is common? Or do you think that lots of people have it because they have cortisol or ferritin issues and that's it? > > I beg to differ.I think many of them simply have not had it tsted yet. > There is almost 1000 members of this group so it certainly is NOT > something weird. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ >
Guest guest
Wow. I thought it was a very rare problem. Interesting to know. Do you think if someone doesn't respond to synthroid at all then they likely have an RT3 problem (maybe a latent one?) Liz > > > > >
