Guest guest
Usually I get stomach twists and turns about 10 minutes after taking HC. If I don't eat enough. What works for me is going to the bathroom first. Then eat. Then take HC. Then I'm usually fine.If I don't eat enough, I have to go to the toiled within 15-20 minutes of taking HC, and then my bowels will be very soft and smell like acid/rotten. >The question I have is: Will I in any way loose any HC when I go to the toilet immediately after taking HC? Guest guest
Sounds like you're having liver issues or digestion issues. When I take meds 15 min after a meal, it gets processed slower than if I were to take it before meals. So that tells me that maybe your liver isn't metabolizing HC properly or something... With pale stools, it's an indication that you don't have enough bile. Ox bile supplement might help with this. Loose yellow stool could be an indication of candida overgrowth. But you're eating low-carb, right? It's still possible to have candida problems on low-carb diets because sulfur also feeds yeast. Things like garlic, onions, eggs, and broccoli are high in sulfur. HC can also raise your blood glucose if you take more than what your body can use which feeds yeast. You can try taking less HC more frequently, totaling the same amount each day. Or take some natural antifungals like caprylic acid. I don't recommend grapefruit seed extract because of your possible liver problems (GSE slows down liver metabolism). You might also be lacking in digestive enzymes. My cat who had digestive enzyme deficiency had loose yellow stools. This site has very good info:http://www.enzymestuff.com/ Or you could be lacking stomach acid. Taking betaine HCl will help with this. But if you have stomach issues like ulcers, you might have a harder time with betaine HCl if you don't heal your stomach first. Are you taking probiotics? This will also help with yeast issues. Guest guest
Hello , and thanks for your very interesting answer!Taking HC before food is only a no-no when I wake up and do my brakfast. For the rest of they day, I can take my HC just as I start to eat and have no problems. I definitely have some digestian problems, no doubt about it. It started more than 2 years ago, along with my "stress" that just came to me in 2007. Probably the start of AF... I mostly have pale stools, not really YELLOW, but mostly lightly colored stools. Very rarely, they will show up absolutely normal! I always try to remember what I ate in the 24 hours before when THAT happens. I pretty much eat the same stuff all the time so I have no idea why my digestion is changing every now and then. I would say that I get "perfect" stools once or twice every month. And sometimes, after that, I can see the gradient change in my stools back to "normal" pale stuff.Bile. Yes. I've been thinking about this. But WHY don't I have enough bile? Why did this happen to me? Is it because I became more hypo i 2007? Because I got AF? What is causing this change in me? Never heard about a product called ox bile. Is it a pill? I will look into that for sure if it can help me. Is this something the doctor must help me with, or can I just start taking it with no risks? As for candida. I did some advanced stool/blood tests, and it showed I have some levels of candida in me. Candida is a normal to have, but I think I had more than normal. I'm eating low-carb, yes. I rarely eat sugar. I do get some carbs every now and then, but less and less! Anti-fungals: Do you mean medicine? I got some anti-fungals once, but I never dared trying them cause I read that they have so many side-effects! I have some probiotics lying in my fridge right now. I don't know which brand or kind or strength they have, my parents bought them in Sweden. Pro-biotics can't hurt can they? Though one specialist told me some studies show some people gets worsening of their problems when they take pro-biotics. Hmmm.Stomach acid! God so many things: Bile, stomach acid, liver issues, digestion issues... Such a huge mess! Any tests you recommend me doing? I can do any tests - I want to do all tests! I just want to get healthy!Feeling extremely bad today. Sleepy, tired, headache, pressure in the head... :\Is my HC and T3 even being absorbed properly? What if my stomach issues makes me absorb things unevely from day to day? That can be real bad when taking T3!Thanks for your advices . Everything you're saying is very valuable to me, and hopefulle to others here too!
Guest guest
Oh, another thing I thought of. Are you taking any supplements w/ magnesium oxide or sulfate? Oxide is very poorly absorbed, so this will cause loose stools/diarrhea. Sulfate is a laxative. So is citrate to some extent. So check your supps for magnesium, what form, and how much. Just a little bit of mag oxide gives me big-time GI problems for me. Also too much vitamin C causes diarrhea.
Guest guest
I didn't take much Vitamin C when this problem started back in late 2007. I do 2000 mg daily now. Ester-C though, so it shouldn't be of any problem with the stomach. I did 133 mg Magnesium Citrate daily. I quit it a few days ago due to a lil bit high Magnesium in serum.Do you think Daily Wellness' Probiotics will be fine to try again now? I tried it last year. Don't know if it worked though. It's got inulin in it, as well as tapioka starch and oligofructose. Those three ingredients are the active ones. It's got maltitol in it too. Is that bad for my gluten-free diet? Will this product be any good for me? What do you recommend me taking? I usually buy from iherb(.com)!  Oh, another thing I thought of. Guest guest
Hi, .2000mg of C even in Ester-C form might be causing the loose stools. Try cutting it out for a day or 2 to see if it improves. I take 1500mg (500mg 3 times a day), and 500mg more give me loose stools. Inulin and FOS in probiotics can feed bad bacteria, so I would stay away from what you have. I buy from iherb too and get NOW Foods Stabilized Acidophilus. It's only acidophilus, but for people with gut issues, it's better to try a single strain at a time. Take it after meals. Start at 1 tablet a day and gradually increase to 3 times a day, then 2 pills, and so on. If you take too much at once, it'll cause diarrhea. As for ox bile, I buy that at iherb too. It's made by Nutricology. I take it for fat digestion and to prevent gall bladder issues as that seems to run in my family. I took it 3 times a day, but I went down to just 1 to see if I feel any difference. I can tell that food sits in my stomach a little longer, but then again, being hypo slows down digestion too. Stool tests aren't very accurate at detecting candida, so if it showed up, then you definitely could use help there. Mine came back negative, but I got on prescription Nystatin based on my different symptoms, and I can tell the difference (took a while though since Nystatin doesn't kill yeast - it only prevents it from multiplying). There are natural antifungals like caprylic acid that you can buy at iherb. I tend to stick to single-ingredient things because I react to different supplements. I really like Candex (also available at iherb). It's very gentle. It's an enzyme that eats the cell walls of candida, and your body kills off the rest. You need to take it on an empty stomach which isn't very possible for me during the day, so I used to take it when I woke up in the middle of the night. You can also try raw garlic. Crush a clove of peeled garlic, let it sit for a minute, then swallow. Do it at night so that it won't give you garlic breath during the day. It's good to make 1 change at a time, so try cutting out C first while you order probiotics, etc. I don't know how all your problems came about. Do you by chance have a lot of silver dental fillings or eat a lot of seafood? Did you have a fluorescent light bulb break while you were around? Vaccinations? They are big sources of mercury. I have mercury issues that caused my candida, AF, and thyroid problems. Lots of us on the mercury chelation group are on the same boat. If you suspect mercury issues, join this group: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/frequent-dose-chelation/As for testing, it's very hard to test for these things. There is a blood test to check enzyme levels (amylase and lipase are what I had done before). Have you had RBC potassium done? Heart problems and potassium seem to go hand in hand sometimes. RBC is better than serum. There's a liver detox profile test at Genova:http://www.genovadiagnostics.com/index.php?option=com_gpanel & Itemid=2 & task=view & nav=test & id=138 It's only one piece of the puzzle, but if you suspect liver issues (for example, multiple chemical sensitivities) it might be worth doing. My nutritionist told me that Metametrix stool test is better than Genova at detecting parasites. Something else to think about. Hope something in here helps. I didn't take much Vitamin C when this problem started back in late 2007. I do 2000 mg daily now. Guest guest
I forgot again to mention this...You can try taking HC sublingually. Just make sure to rinse out your mouth really well and gargle afterwards as it can cause thrush.Or use 1% hydrocortisone cream (over-the-counter). If you belong to the Adrenals group, there's info on how to dose in the files section.
