Guest guest
Hi Can you post your results with the ranges. Have you had your ferritin level done? Sky To: RT3_T3 Sent: Sat, 13 February, 2010 10:58:43 AMSubject: Lyme Disease - Val I have high rT3 and low-normal FT3 and FT4.My adrenals were low in morning and afternoon (but I have supported them for 10 weeks with supplements) ... so my adrenals are good to go (determined by stable body temps, albeit low, and increase in energy). So I can begin T3 supplementation? Ideally, once I've cleared rT3... will I then add T4?Also... once I'm done with Lyme treatment will I be able to ween off the T3 and T4?Thanks a ton! Guest guest
TSH 2.150 (.450-4.5) FT4 1.09 (0.82-1.77) FT3 2.5 (2.0-4.4) rT3 311 (90-350) Antibodies- normal Adrenals are now normal range. My LLMD told me that Lyme and heavy metals bind to hormones rendering them useless. So blood results don't mean much. --My Symptoms-- Low Body Temp (avg 96.8 stable) Cold hands/feet Hair loss/thin He wants me on synthroid and cytomel. But I knew about this site and knew quite a bit about rT3. I've had a few Lymies(with high rT3) tell me that they went on cytomel and felt terrible. Thanks so much You guys are a lifesaver > > Hi > > Can you post your results with the ranges. > > Have you had your ferritin level done? > > Sky > > > > > ________________________________ > > To: RT3_T3 > Sent: Sat, 13 February, 2010 10:58:43 AM > Subject: Lyme Disease - Val > > Â > > I have high rT3 and low-normal FT3 and FT4. > My adrenals were low in morning and afternoon (but I have supported them for 10 weeks with supplements) ... so my adrenals are good to go (determined by stable body temps, albeit low, and increase in energy). > > So I can begin T3 supplementation? Guest guest
Oh and my ferritin levels were low-end normal. Most Lymies have low iron/ferritin. Damn co-infection babesia. (I can't supplement with iron yet) > > > > Hi > > > > Can you post your results with the ranges. > > > > Have you had your ferritin level done? > > > > Sky > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > From: allboutthisu <allboutthisu@> > > To: RT3_T3 > > Sent: Sat, 13 February, 2010 10:58:43 AM > > Subject: Lyme Disease - Val > > > > Â > > > > I have high rT3 and low-normal FT3 and FT4. > > My adrenals were low in morning and afternoon (but I have supported them for 10 weeks with supplements) ... so my adrenals are good to go (determined by stable body temps, albeit low, and increase in energy). > > > > So I can begin T3 supplementation? Guest guest
I have lyme too. I think you can follow all the same principles on this site for clearing RT3 and treating thyroid. The question might be, is the infection and/or heavy metal toxicity (and resulting low ferritin) the cause of your thyroid resistance and high RT3? If so, and you make progress on your lyme treatment, you may be able to add T4, and then eventually wean off thyroid meds or at least decrease them. But until the cause of your resistance is addressed, you will likely not tolerate any T4. Check out Holtorf's site. He's the most respected physician here. The chronic illness cycle diagram shows all the areas that need attention. My LLMD has treated all of those for me in my lengthy lyme treatment journey. The thyroid and other hormones are only one component but a crucial one. Sherry > > Have you guys ever worked with Lyme patients? > > Since getting bit by tick and acquiring Lyme Disease... Guest guest
Actually ferritin was in normal range. Iron Serum was slightly lower than normal. > > >Oh and my ferritin levels were low-end normal. > > How low, for thyroid health we look for 70 to 90? > > Nick > > -- > > for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to > > www.thyroid-rt3.com >

You can try adding T4 if you want to but it's not a necessary step Is Ferritin up around the 70 to 90 mark? >Also... once I'm done with Lyme treatment will I be able to ween off the T3 and T4? No idea, but you can try. You may as well wean down on T3 without adding T4 if you want to try that step > I don't have any knowledge of Lyme I'm afraid Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com

Guest guest
Yes, although Lyme Disease is a clinical diagnosis because the lab tests are not that reliable. There are 2-3 labs that are better than most but it is still only about 70% accuracy. Still, since we are focused in this forum on RT3, it isn't the place to go into all the issues from Lyme. The main thing is that you treat the hypothyroid, and the infection, and then when you are better, you may not need as much thyroid treatment. And infection is one cause of RT3.
