Guest guest
Dear Trisha I'm sorry to hear about your mouth sores...here's a website that may be helpful - the other thing is to call your oncologist's office and get their recommendations. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mouth-sores/CA00054 I know you hate to feel like a pain, but WE'RE PAYING THEM BIG MONEY!!! I hope this helps and will pray they go away soon for you. The good news? You get to eat ice cream, frozen yogurt and smoothies! My best,
Guest guest
Trisha, Ouch! I remember all too well how mouth sores feel - and yes, it certainly does sound as if they are in your throat (they were in mine). Please call your onc's office right now! They can give you a prescription for something called "Magic 's Mouth Wash", or "Swish-Wash" - I know this sounds odd, but the name of this rinse is different in different areas of the country. Your onc nurse should certainly be familiar with it. Also, my onc gave me a script for a med - I think it was diflucan. Once I started both the diflucan and the mouth wash I got relief fairly quickly. Let us know how you're doing. Ann Chemo Hats: www.cjhats.com Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Hi Trisha: I am a new member and I read all the e-mails posted and look forward to them on a daily basis. I was on Adriamycin and I found that washing out my mouth evertime I eat with baking soda helped. As soon as I felt the slightest soreness I wash my mouth with the baking soda and also brush every time I eat. I became a clean freak but it worked. You can try it. I hope it will work. SydonnieTrisha wrote: Hi Ladies, I have developed a couple of sores on my tongue and a few blisters on the roof of my mouth. Also, my throat burns and feels as if it is closing off...could this be sores in my throat? It hurts to swallow. I had ice in my mouth both times I have received Adriamycin. What can I do to relieve this?? Trisha New Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Call regular phones from your PC and save big.

It works really well and I sure hope you can try it. It's OTC at any pharmacy. My son has a degree in biotechnology and had to learn about our bodies. He said that the mucuous membranes in our body stop growing new cells and that causes the mouth sores. All cells that grow are now stopped due to the chemo. I learned a little bit about hand-foot problems from Hamilton's website. Keep my fingertips cool and they don't hurt too much. However, I have seven fingers involved and they have all cracked also. First they peel and then are very sore. Janet
Guest guest
I have used Biotene mouthwash and gel too for this and it seems to be very soothing. They also have a toothpaste (about 7.00 a tube for that!). I got mine at a local Walgreen Pharmacy but they also ahve it online at drugstore.com > > Hi Ladies, > > I have developed a couple of sores on my tongue and a few blisters on the > roof of my mouth.
