Guest guest
Dear Nick, I have just been looking at your web site (and thinking about translating it). I saw that you had a link for Celtic Sea Salt being sold by an American company. I think people should know that this stuff is sold for less than 1€50 per kilo in most supermarkets in the west of France, where I live.  The edible variety is so cheap here that it was being sold in 5 kilo sacks in the supermarket during the snow for people to salt their paths and door steps. It seems a bit silly to pay all that money to get something from the states that is readily available at about 1/5 the price in the country next door. (Unless you live in the states, of course!) So if you know anybody going to France, get them to get you some " Sel de Guérande " . By the way the best stuff is the grey looking stuff! It's not treated with any chemicals and is used in all the best restaurants. It comes in an ordinary plastic bag. The salt on the web site looks like the form that is used in salt grinders that is suspiciously resistant to damp and moisture. I wonder what they do or add to it to get it like that? And is it doing people any good? Thanks for that, the link was an example of what we mean and not necessarily a source. I'm certainly not suggesting that Europeans ship salt from the States to here! I am planning a few additions to the site in the next few weeks with more on things like ideaal lab numbers, interpreting labs, and bits on things like Vitamin D and B12. The vast bulk of what's there is stable and staying though so feel free to start translating if you have the time and energy. The site seems to have settled in well.
