Guest guest
It amazes me too how each surgeon is different. The day before surgery I was told to eat lightly (I'm fat, so what is lightly? LOL) and stop eating by 5pm. At 5pm I had to drink only half a bottle of Phosposoda (yummy). Half a bottle is about 9 tablespoons. Then I could have gatorade or water up to midnight (I do not like Gatorade and could not drink it. . .too salty). That was it!! I was afraid the Phosposoda would attach my bowels, but it does not. I only had to void once in the morning before driving down to USC. Of course nothing to eat or drink before surgery and no cigarettes! I did cheat, I brushed my teeth in the morning and chewed on a piece of gum while we drove down to LA. My surgery kept getting delayed, and I was hooked up to the IV for two hours before surgery. . .yes, I did have to tinkle and had to have my DH help me with the IV stand. Such a difference from my VBG prep where I had to have that dreaded enema until the water ran clear. Yuck!! > > Wow. It amazes me how doctors have such different protocols!
