Back after surgery

I am back after my surgery (11/17) with Dr. Anthone. I could not have asked for things to go any better. No pain, nausea, vomiting, etc. absolutely nothing. I am so very lucky and thank you all who supported me.

I think the major factors in those going well, aside from a gifted and caring surgeon and supportive family, were all the people I knew were supporting and praying for me and that I was extremely clam going into surgery. I think all the support I had was what made me feel calm. I never thought I would die or that anything bad would happen to me. I made sure my family was taken care of during my hospitalization and recuperation and left them a freezer full of pre-cooked meals. I did have a little pang or two of fear when I first got my date (it was two weeks from approval to surgery) mostly about the large incision and about coming out of anesthesia. Coming out of anesthesia was not scary or unpleasant and there was no pain. I show off my incision to everyone who wants to look at it, so I've overcome that one too.

I think the way we think affects us more through something like this than we imagine. While I was being prep'd for surgery (no drugs yet) my blood pressure was lower than it had been in about a year.

I did use the "Heal Faster, Prepare for Surgery" relaxation tape, but I never managed to read the book. I don't know how much I can attribute to that.

The best I can do is wish you all for the type of experience I had.

Love,
