Guest guest
Very little thyroid hormoens (T 4or T3) pass the placental barrier. What I gather from reading on this subject is that iodine homeostasi is the MAJOR importance in pregnancy to insure the baby has good thyroid levels and that is accomplished with T3 alone just as it is with T4 when it is used properly in the body so I cna find NO REASON for T4 even in pregnancy and think it is fine to stay onm the T3 only evnen then, and possibly it is better as with high RT3 Iodine is not beiong used properly by the body so it is probably more detrimental to have high RT3 thna to have low T4 in the body during pregnancy. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Your doctor is wrong. Cytomel is safe for pregnancy. The fertilty specialists at Mass General Hosp (a premier hospital affiliated with Harvard univ) confirmed this. Sent from my iPhone Quick question... I am not pregnant... but would love if someday soon I was. Is Cytomel indicated to be safe with pregnancy? My doctor said no and if I were to become pregnant, that I'd have to go on Synthroid only. If this is true... it seems like all of my work with Cytomel would go out the window if I became pregnant. To plan for getting myself better in the event of pregnancy, should I continue on the Cytomel with the goal of transition to Naturethroid or would I be stuck going back to all synthroid? Thanks,
Guest guest
Bonnie, Did you ask them? Did you ask whether it was safe to carry a pregnancy taking only T3? As you know, I am also interested! > Your doctor is wrong. Cytomel is safe for pregnancy.
