Guest guest
Hi a, I write western romances. I am in love with the desert, cowboys, horses, Indians, and the old west. My favorite show in my teen age hood was called " Wagon Train " with Ward Bond and he is my hero. He died before his last show aired kinda leaving his fate as " Major " up in the air so I decided to continue the saga, get him a wife and kid and settle him in as a sheriff of a small western town when the wagon trains end. This they did when the railroads connected in the 1870's. I figured a small town would give me plenty of characters and situations to work with. I have created a high spirited young woman of Mexican/Irish descent to tickle his fancy and eventually win him but the clash of wills between the two will give me lots of situations to work off of and if you are familiar with Ward Bond's character you know he was quite a guy with a fierce temper but a heart of gold. I also have a third book cooking but not on paper yet about a young Indian girl abandoned by her people during the persecution of the tribes by the armies. She is adopted by a white family, kinda like Ma & Pa Kettle. They get her healthy again, (she was hanging out at a trading post on the back porch when they would feed her leftover food when " Ma " found her). The only problem they have is that she won't speak. They join the wagon train at St. ph, Missouri bound for Sacramento. See, there I go again. Love Mom Pudge, can't wait for my new 'puter with graphics and everything, Yahoooooo pudge@... Guest guest
Mom are your books published yet? And are they a wee bit spicy? Do the fellows in the book touch her womanliness or kiss her ardently? Do they eat low carb. ( Had to put that in for the low carb people like ourselves of course)
Guest guest
Norma, You are such a naughty girl. No, my books aren't finished so I haven't tried to get anything published. In order to set the manuscripts up so I can submit them there is a certain format, and if the manuscript isn't formatted just so they aren't read. This means taking some courses at our local college which I will do when the time comes. Hey I wasn't kidding about retirement. After working for 45 years I took the last two years to totally crash, but now I'm up and running again and feeling the need to begin to do something productive. While I was resting, after attacking my hobby room (dungeon), I picked up some crochet that was laying there in a bag and started working on it. I can't describe the feeling of satisfaction I got from working with the crochet hook and the yarn. As far as the love scenes in my stories, I did the first one a while back. It's amazing that when you write you are in the story. You know how each character is feeling, and you know if you do some dialog for them and it's not right. You say to yourself, " So and so just wouldn't say that in that way " . I was there, I was feeling the emotions, and it was great. It was only a kiss, but that first kiss is usually great. So I enjoyed it. I also started laughing thinking about those old ladies, Barbara Bradford, etc., putting out those sexy books and being able to be part of it. Naught girls. As far as eating lo-carb, they ate a lot of meat and beans but also had to have their biscuits and dried fruit. So I guess it's 6 of one and a half a dozen of the other. I'll try to work lo-cab eating into the story but the heroine's father is Mexican (fashioned after Quinn) so there has to be tortillas around somewhere. Thanks for asking, Love Mom Pudge, lumpy on the out side, sexy on the inside pudge@...
