Guest guest
Anyone else unable to get their Folic Acid in Canada? I have been waiting for about a month now and was told today that the pharmacies still don't have an idea as to when they will be getting more in. They said the storage was all over Canada. What fun! Guest guest
I've got plenty of Folic Acid so I haven't checked. In the US 1 mg Folic Acid is no longer a prescription drug but is over-the-counter. You might check to see if some OTC Folic Acid is available. If that fails then you need to look to dietary sources of Folic Acid. I'm not a nutritionist but I think that green leafy vegetables are rich in Folate. I hope someone who knows nutrition can help here. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Thursday, January 27, 2005 1:51 PM Subject: Folic Acid Shortage Anyone else unable to get their Folic Acid in Canada? Guest guest
I was taking 5mg of Folic Acid a day, which is normally acquired via a perscription. Apparently there is a seriuos manufacture shortage of the 5mg right now, and is impossible to get. The solution was to buy a regular 1mg bottle of it and take 5 pills a day. Apparently everyone has figured this out and it's getting difficult, but not impossible to get now. I live on Vancouver Island and the London Drug store here had lots of it, although it was found in the vitamin section and be careful what dosage it is. The ultimate solution is to take 10mg of Leucovorin 12 hours after taking your methotrexate, once a week. It is also obtained via perscription. Beats taking 5 Folic Acid every day! oh.....and yes I'm new.....lol......hello everyone!
